Coastal Chic Bathroom Vanity and Fixtures Reveal

It all started with a frond. I saw a pile of fresh trimmings in my neighbor’s front yard (we all put our lawn trimmings by the curb once a week for the lawn debris truck to pick up) and it just so happened to be from my favorite plant, a large philodendron selloum. So I did what any rational, plant-loving person would do and grabbed the smallest leaf out of their pile, dusted it off and brought it inside, hoping no one saw me. I trimmed a few inches off the frond with my cutters and stuck it in some fresh water. It “woke up” beautifully and then I pranced around the house with it looking for photo ops. :D It ended up in our bathroom and a much-needed photo shoot ensued!
I haven’t shared this space since the before and after pictures in the post below, so this reveal is a bit overdue!
We’re really happy with our vanity after living with it for six months. It’s 80” and more than makes up for not having two separate vanities like we did in our last home. The drawers are great for keeping things organized. I should mention that I did not use the marble counter top that can be purchased with the vanity. I opted for marble-look quartz instead. There’s no way we could handle marble in our bathroom! With using purple shampoo and Clorox wipes, it would be ruined in no time. I’m just not that careful!
I use these clear organizers for just about every single drawer in our house. They are affordable and make a huge difference.

I’ll take this opportunity to show you the odd fixtures I used for our hand towels. They are actually toilet paper holders and you can order them here. I wanted something barely noticeable. These are pretty sleek and very easy to install.
I asked the fabricators to cut curves in the quartz backsplash for some added detail. My only regret is not doing something similar in our guest bathroom!
Our wall mounted faucets were the best idea for this bathroom. No more trying to wipe up the water that often pools around a standard faucet. I really think they look cool, too.
Notice the circle on the ceiling? It’s a very quiet fan that is also a bluetooth speaker and has a “nightlight” function along with a waterproof remote. We think it’s pretty cool and use it all the time to play music. You can buy it here.
The bathroom had this large window to the right and it prompted the need for a vanity that is free-standing, since we couldn’t push the vanity up to that wall. I used a natural linen roman shade to cover the window. It’s cordless and opens and closes really easily.
Miss Summer said she hadn’t been invited to participate in a photo shoot in a while, so I invited her in to this one. ;)

What’s left to do this in the bathroom? Well, I still need to order some soap dispensers. I’m leaning toward matte black and glass to tie in the door handles and shelf brackets that I just installed this week. I also just got some light wood frames and to hang art next to the window.
