Entertaining for Under $50: Tasty Treats and Delicious Drinks!
This post is in partnership with Christmas Tree Shops andThat! As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands that support House Full of Summer!
I mentioned in a previous post, Make Room for Conversation on a Small Front Porch, that I was asked by andThat! to participate in some fun shopping challenges. Well, this is challenge number two: Entertaining for Under $50!
I bet you had NO idea that your local andThat! store is a great place to grab the cutest food and drinks for a get together! Some of their products give me quite the chuckle! They're fun conversation starters and also made me feel pretty nostalgic. Check out some of the finds I photographed while perusing the store and you'll see what I mean:
Does anyone remember heating Jiffy Pop tins over a camp fire or gas stove? I do! And how about those retro sodas? I love it all and they're super affordable snacks! You can throw a kids party or last minute adult get-together with inexpensive and easy options. Everything you need is in one place!
I brought ALL of drinks, snacks and dessert home and only spent just under $50!
Let's take a closer look at what I got...
I tried these watermelon shandy beers and they taste like....watermelon! What a fun summer drink! I also picked up one of my favorite Leinenkugel brands, Summer Shandy. I had no idea andThat! carried it!
What's a party without snacks? A bag of tortilla chips and queso is always a favorite for us. Are you noticing these price tags like I did? The prices are very affordable!
Now I have to be honest, I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to pretzel thins! This large bag is a great deal and several dollars less than at our local grocery stores! Not bad at all!
One of my favorite finds while in the store was this selection of wine from a charming St. Augustine winery! We frequent St. Augustine and have enjoyed touring the San Sebastian winery on multiple occasions.
Another easy option for offering up drinks to guests who may have different preferences in alcohol is this bottle of White Peach Daiquiri or Margarita mixer. Pour into a blender with rum and ice and you'll have the perfect daiquiri! Conversely, you can whip up an easy White Peach margarita on the rocks by just pouring over ice and garnishing with a slice of peach. Easy, right? :)
Lastly, I had to try out this adorable jar of ingredients for "homemade" chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. All you have to do is add real butter, vanilla and an egg white. You don't even have to tell your guests that you created these cookies from a jar. Lol! Just serve them and watch the compliments roll in. ;)
I hope you enjoyed this fun shopping challenge, but I'm sorry if I'm leaving you feeling hungry! If I could send you snacks through the screen, I would. Maybe that will be the next technological advancement. ;)
Sending Sunshine,
Jessica
